TRANSPORTATION OF DANGEROUS GOODS (ADR)

What categories of cargo are dangerous:
According to international standards, the category of “dangerous” includes more than 3000 names of substances that, if improperly transported, in case of road accidents, can harm human health and nature. The list of such goods in Ukraine fully coincides with the European classification. All of them are divided into 9 classes, the higher the number, the more dangerous the cargo is.
Most often, the following cargoes are delivered:
- explosives, ammunition (class 1)
- poisonous and flammable substances (class 2)
- fuel of any kind (class 3)
- infectious, toxic substances (class 6)
- radioactive substances (class 7)
To establish the category of such substances, international digital and light indication is used. Thus, hazardous gases are labeled white or green, fire hazardous substances – red, explosives – orange, chemicals that will emit flammable gases after contact with water – blue. Substances that easily ignite are depicted as red shading with a flame pictogram. There are also pictograms for other dangerous goods.

TERMS OF TRANSPORTATION OF DANGEROUS GOODS
Carriers of dangerous goods in Ukraine must have:
- permission for the dangerous goods transportation;
- ADR kit: equipment for the delivery of dangerous goods;
- vehicles that are permitted to deliver the dangerous cargos of various classes;
- trained stuff: the driver must have a certificate of transportation of dangerous goods.
The package of documents for the transport of dangerous goods consists of:
- the competency certificate for a transport company to transport the dangerous goods;
- licenses for the transportation of dangerous goods;
- the vehicle competency certificate;
